Data Science, setting a standard for the future

Abstract:

Tom will be presenting his vision for the Australian Data Science Institute, a non-profit organisation that hopes bring industry standard into the Data Science profession. He will do this by sharing the critical lessons learned from his 20+ year journey in the industry and why he believes that the Australian universities role will be so crucial for the future AI and data-driven economy.

Tom Park is a graduate from the School of Statistics, UNSW and has been in the analytic industry for more than 20 years. His experience includes working for technology companies such as SAS and IBM, as well as Director of Risk Analytics at one of the Big Four consulting firms at Deloitte.

He is currently working as the Senior Business Partner at Knowledge Exchange (formally NSI) with the primary task of providing industry intelligence to the researcher to better position their capability and research for external industry engagement.
