Webster music rehearsal rooms

The Robert Webster building has seven small practice rooms and six large rehearsal rooms that are available for music students enrolled in a Music specialisation. 

Unfortunately, students who are not enrolled in a Music specialisation are not able to access these rooms however, if you are an Arc Member Arc - UNSW Student Life, opens in a new window you may book practice rooms via their website.

Practice room details

  • Eligibility

    These rooms are only available to students enrolled in a Music Specialisation or Bachelor of Music (Honours). 

     
    Room availability 

    The rooms are available between 7am – 10pm, Monday – Sunday.  
     

    Booking procedure

    Bookings are limited to one room per day, per student/group for a maximum of two hours.  
     

    When booking, please provide: 

    • Student ID and full name

    • Course you are practising for

    • Names of other students in the room with you

  • Eligibility

    These rooms are only available to students enrolled in a Music Specialisation and a Music Course.   
     

    Room availability 

    The rooms are available between business hours 9am-5pm Monday – Friday. Bookings are restricted to 2 hours per day, per student. Under special circumstances, these rooms may be booked outside office hours in consultation with the School Office. After-hour booking requests should be made with a minimum of one week’s notice. 

     

    Booking procedure 

    To book these rooms, students must email the School of the Arts & Media (SAM) Office sam@unsw.edu.au and provide the information below: 

    • Student ID and your name. 

    • Room, time and date. 

    • Course you are practising for. 

    • Names of other students in the room with you. 

    • What instruments will be used inside the room. 

       

    Practice Room Booking Conditions 

    The student who books the room, must be the same person who collects the swipe key to the room from the school office.

    During the term, drum kits must not be played in practice rooms on Level 3 outside of class.

    Rooms Must be reset to their original layout and condition in which it was found after your booking.

    You will find an upright piano.

    You will find a baby grand piano, bass amp, guitar amp and a drum kit.
