UNSW has a bunch of incredible scholarships to ensure that you can reach your full potential and follow your dreams – but with so many scholarships available, it can be a tad overwhelming to work out which ones you are eligible for and what they have to offer. Luckily, our resident GIE blogger Bella has you covered, with a guide to 2020 UNSW Scholarships!
Women in Engineering Scholarships
Are you female (or identify as female) and are interested in pursuing engineering? If so, then these are the scholarships for you! UNSW is committed to making engineering a more gender-equal field, and offer a bunch of scholarships to female high-school leavers. Aside from the financial aid (AKA, $) these scholarships provide, you’ll also get the opportunity to develop your professional network with the contacts that your make. All of these scholarships are OPEN NOW and applications close on the 30th of September – so get typing!

*Only open to certain disciplines of engineering. Have a look at the scholarships website for more details on the specifics!
Tips & tricks: This scholarship is all about work placements and leadership so make sure you highlight any casual work or volunteering you’ve done during high school. Try and tie in leadership skills to all of your answers. Also, make sure you know exactly why you are applying for that specific discipline of engineering and research the sponsor companies before the interview.
Co-op Scholarship
Wait what?! You want me to work for my scholarship! Unlike the other scholarships on offer at UNSW, the Co-op combines financial support with 18 months of work placements with an industry sponsor. Getting internships at uni is tough (trust me!) so having guaranteed industrial training is a huge perk! Be warned that the application process for this scholarship is a bit more involved so make sure you get started early.Applications are also OPEN NOW and close on the 30th of September.
