This project is an opportunity to work in a world-leading group that develops quantum computer devices. We provide a collaborative environment where the Taste of Research student can learn how to operate, optimize, and analyse the functioning of microelectronic devices that encode quantum information in the electron or nuclear spin of individual atoms in silicon.

The group of Prof Morello consists of 9 PhD students and 6 postdoctoral fellows. They work on the totality of the aspects involved in the development of quantum computer hardware: design, modelling, fabrication, testing, operation, optimisation, in order to construct the world's most performant quantum bits in silicon.
The Taste of Research student will be invited to work alongside on of the internal teams and contribute to accelerating their research. The expected outcome will be the hands-on learning of how quantum hardware works, how it can be designed and optimised, and how to collect and analyse the outcome of quantum measurement.
